Dyanne Asimow is a writer, filmmaker, yogi, adventurer, grandmother, and dog companion in Los Angeles.

​

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dyanne did undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and an MFA at Yale School of Drama. As a single mom raising two sons, she earned a living writing scripts for studios and production companies. Dyanne wrote plays between assignments.  Her theatrical productions include Day of the Dead, Attitude, and  Laurel Canyon Hitchhiker. She wrote and directed Bill’s Mountain, a documentary of a Laurel Canyon outlier. Dyanne has published in Los Angeles Review of Books. Her short story, "Into the Wall," was awarded first prize and published in Bosque Lit. Dyanne published a young adult novel, The Edge of Finalia, under the pseudonym Delores Hawk.

Dyanne challenges herself with new adventures, both in writing and in life.  She has performed stand-up comedy in Los Angeles and trekked a month in the Himalayas. Besides reading and watching movies, her favorite activities are yoga, hiking, and hanging out at Peets’ coffee having conversations. Dyanne's next novel, Dug Out, rooted in love for her native city and its fascinating history is currently marinating in a drawer while she finishes her thirteenth century epic set in Konya, Turkey.
